Your Skipper and Hostess Your skipper Ken started sailing at the age of twelve. By the age of fifteen he had sailed on the Training Ship “Royalist“ - a square-rig vessel - and qualified as an offshore sailing hand. After leaving school Ken took up a career in fishing and worked out of his home port Weymouth in Dorset for a number of years. He then moved further afield and fished out of the Channel Islands, the Highlands and Islands of Scotland, the Brittany Coast in France and the North Sea out of Grimsby. After twenty three years at sea this has given him a wealth of knowledge and experience. After taking up sailing again seven years ago, Ken was approached by the BBC and had the pleasure of sailing Micheal Burke (presenter) on the “Megan” whilst filming for a documentary about Christopher Wren. Having also experienced sailing in the Caribbean and off the coast of Florida, in Ken’s opinion, “A sailing holiday in the Ionian Islands has far more to offer”. Your hostess Dee (Ken’s partner) was first introduced to sailing over three years ago and is now a qualified RYA Day Skipper. Ken and Dee have sailed the Ionian Islands for the last three years, having fallen for their charm and beauty they feel that it would be lovely to be able to share the experience.
